Hi there! My name is Melissa, and I am a professional dancer, teacher, arts administrator, and yoga teacher with over 20 years of fitness training experience. I began gymnastics at the age of three and since then have craved to live as many moments as possible upside down. When I shifted away from gymnastics I continued to find physical flight through springboard diving and then dance and yoga. I am constantly amazed by what the body can do, and I love pushing the limits of what seems possible. I have found that fitness being a part of who I am, and not something "I have to do" has enriched my life and well being tremendously. I am not a big fan of the gym or typical workouts, and find much more joy in what I call "lifestyle fitness." It doesn't have to be a lot, and it certainly doesn't have to be a drag... It just has to get your body moving. If you're looking for a workout rut change, and want a little more fun in your fitness, you've come to the right place!

Additionally, through competing, performing - and quite honestly just growing up - I have found a deep love for travel. With each experience I venture to uncover something new about my self and this amazing planet. Plus, traveling is one of my favorite ways to stay fit... notice the blog is called answering adventure...not answering the call to sit on your bum in the sun with margaritas in hand (although every now and then that's good too). What I mean to say is that some of the most amazing adventures require hard physical work, but they are so worth it! I hope my stories, tips, and tricks can inspire you to set off on your own adventures!

For me travel and fitness are life... and I get bored in my comfort zone. If you can relate, or maybe want to give a little more adventure a try - jump on in, the water's.... well sometimes freezing... and the jump might be 25 feet - but you'll be glad you did it!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be?

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
